A standard telephoto prime designed for close-up applications, the XCD 120mm f/3.5 Macro Lens from Hasselblad is a 95mm equivalent macro lens dedicated to the medium format mirrorless X system. This macro lens offers a 1:2 maximum magnification along with a minimum focusing distance of 1.4' to suit photographing close subjects, and a floating elements system maintains image clarity and sharpness throughout the focusing range. Like other XCD lenses, the 120mm f/3.5 Macro has an integrated Central Lens Shutter that is capable of shutter speeds up to 1/2000 sec with flash sync at all speeds, and its internal autofocus design can be manually overridden for precise manual focusing control.

    Hasselblad XCD reviews

XCD 120mm f/3.5 Macro Lens is rated 2.5 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Faulty focusing I bought this lens a few months back and it stopped working(focusing motor making noise and not focusing). After receiving a different replacement lens from Hasselblad the very same thing happened after a day of using! The sad thing is that for the brief time it worked the lens sharpness and resolution was amazing. This is unacceptable and not to what I expect from a professional lens or manufacturer such as Hasselblad. It is obviously from my own experience and other users that this lens has too many issues to be released as of yet-Hasselblad needs to step up their QC!!!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from $4500 lens does not focus. I have the 45mm and the 90mm lens with no issues on the X1d. I was excited to receive the hasselblad xcd 120mm macro lens. The focus stopped working after three shots. I was very disappointed waiting for months to receive this lens . Besides, its a super heavy lens for the X1d with no image stabilization. I would wish they would make another macro lens (maybe 1:1 ratio) Otherwise, with the recent updates, the X1d is becoming more of a pleasure to handle.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good while it lasted After months of waiting I finally received my 120mm. My first surprise was the great difficulty of installing or removing the new lens. I finally used a surgical glove to grip the outer part of the lens while leaning on the camera body. I gradually learned a technique that worked fairly well, and I think the amount of force needed to turn the lens lessened as I used the lens. Then the lens would no longer focus no matter how carefully I installed the new lens. The 45mm lens that I ordered with the cameral continued to operate as expected. I suppose--based on the few pictures that I took--that the 120mm will be a good lens after Hassleblad completes whatever repairs are needed. I'm sure that it will be a great lens after repairs are completed. Still, I expect a $4500 lens to work perfectly from the start. Hopeful Joe

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Failure after a few exposures. After waiting for months for this lens I was pleased with it until it no longer making contact with the camera. My 45mm lens continues to work as expected. Where do I send the 120mm lens for replacement or repair? B&H, or Hasselblad? This has been very frustrating as I was planning to use this lens for a special project that will have to await warm weather.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great! Three days of shooting. Sharp! Quiet leaf shutter compared to the other three. On “Full” Focus often slow to focus. Reminds me of the canon 85mm 1.2. No issues with attaching or releasing the lens from the body. Heavy yes but compact no complaints. A joy.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Heavy Lens very slow to focus. The lens failed for me after less than 100 shots, factory repaired it. Too slow to focus and it searches blindly for the focal point. Works in manual.
