Gitzo GSF50M Overview

This Gitzo 50mm Big Foot is designed for Gitzo Tripods or Monopods that connect to an existing foot using a 3/8"-16 accessory thread. It features a 50mm-wide rubber pad that forms a ball-and-socket joint with a steel 3/8"-16 mount that screws into the bottom of a compatible tripod or monopod leg.

When the Gitzo 50mm Big Foot is used, the ball-and-socket joint allows the rubber pad to tilt so that it maintains complete contact with a flat surface regardless of the angle position of a connected tripod or monopod leg. By maximizing contact with the surface on which it rests, the ability of a tripod or monopod leg to help provide a stable platform for a camera, sport optic, or accessory is enhanced.

Gitzo GSF50M Reviews

Nice big foot

These are much better than the copies from others like Leofoto. The ball moves smoothly unlike the others that are tight and make squeezing noise. One tip on how to tighten or loosen the foot: lay the foot flat and you will see a hole on the bottom of the ball. Use a proper sized torx key to tighten or loosen it.

The outer metal retaining clip tends to fall out

This is my second purchase of this foot for my Gitzo monopod after the first one lost the outer metal retaining clip. Once that is lost, the ball joint easy comes out of the rubber and you'll find yourself back here, spending another $25 for poor engineering.

Far too small

Recently got these on a. Ew tripod and was very disappointed. Not large enough to distribute weight very well and repeatedly does not lie flush but on end. Vastly inferior to the old big foot offering which I have reverted to. Poor product

I bought to replace the standard round rubber foot. Plants the monopod in place and swivels smoothly in all directions. Excellent for action shooting or bird photography.

Big Foot for Robus Monopod

Added this to my recently purchased Robus Monopod to give it a larger foot for softer surfaces. Like the size

It's fine.

My only complaint is that there's no way to grip the shaft when screwing the foot into the monopod — it's difficult to screw it down tight. (Which is why I bought this replacement; the original foot spontaneously loosened and fell off when I was hiking.)
