The Polar Scope is an accessory for the Sky-Watcher AZ-EQ5 mount that makes polar alignment easy, greatly reducing setup time and allowing more time for observing. It comes with an illuminator to make the alignment reticle easier to see.
I can't believe that I actually spent $103 USD on this item plus another $25 USD for import taxes to Canada on this item just to find out it's totally and absolutely useless. The illuminator does not light the reticle and casts a red smudgy glow that totally washes out the writing on the reticle. I've had to use a lighter, a small flashlight instead and find it frustrating trying to polar align the mount using this polar scope. On a good note, the design of the polar scope itself is okay but the illuminator should have screwed right in to the barrel like most of the other polar scopes out there. B&H had it in stock and quickly shipped it out but the quality of the product is not what you'd expect from SkyWatcher.
