The cage itself surrounds your camera on three sides, adding a measure of protection to mirrorless cameras like Sony's a7 series and Panasonic's GH series, as well as smaller DSLR cameras like Canon's Rebel line and Nikon's D3000, D5000, and D7000 lines. 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threaded holes line the top and sides of the cage for securing accessories such as articulating arms.
