Ditched 2 different hdmi capture cards for this! Nothing but problems. This gets hdmi signal from camera to our church presentation/streaming PC with good picture and audio intact. Very happy this product exists.

I have several of these and they perform much better than the competition. No latency issues. Audio comes in crisp. No complaints.

I have owned two of these and when they work they are great, but now that two have died within a year of gentle use I am going back to the TeraDek.

I use it to stream 8-hour corporate seminars around 12 days/month. This is essential to my studio. The 2nd gen silver magewell served me well for 6 years. That one overheated occasionally if left plugged in overnight but would work again after I unplugged it a bit to let it cool down. This version is much better for thermal and adds hdmi loop through with audio/mic inputs.

Does the audio input insert audio into the hdmi loop through, or just into the usb recording stream?
Asked by: Scott
A loop through usually only sends out the same input that was brought in. More than like the 3.5mm audio input would only be for the capture devices stream itself.

I have a Nikon D300, D3400 and a D7100 which camera can I use for live streaming with this Magewell?

The D3400 and D7100 will have the needed clean HDMI output to work with this Magewell capture device. However the D300 is a bit of an older model that may not have the clean HDMI output needed.

This capture device does not effect recording settings. You would adjust these settings in the software you are using to record. I recommend OBS.
