The Sony GP-X1EM Grip Extension is not officially compatible with the Sony a9 III. For a grip extension for the a9 III, I would recommend the Sony VG-C5 Vertical Grip, B&H # SOVGC5.

There are two little "pins" on the grip extension ...
There are two little "pins" on the grip extension that are supposed to fit into the camera and there's only one receiving hole on my a9 for one of the pins. The other pin which has no hole to fit into seems to prevent a flush fit and I notice a small gap between the grip extension and the camera. Anyone else notice this? Unless I tighten it really tight it can slip a little.
this is design for Sony A9 and there is no issue using it
