Buyer beware - sudden death...

I really wanted to like this light, especially the spot/flood focus and dimmer - a hairlight, a key light in tight situations... but then the problems started. First it was the on/off switch that jammed into the on position - couldn't turn it off without pulling the plug. Irritating, but not a big deal. Got it fixed. Later, the real problem. It was on a long day, many hours of operation when the light suddenly died. After it cooled, there was a rattle inside - a small silver retangular component (about a half inch across) had dropped off the circuit board. It was still warm, and apparently had melted the two solder joints that hold it to the board and simply dropped off. I had it re-soldered. Another shoot later, same sudden death, same rattle. A tech determined that the component is supposed to heat up and she made a little heatsink for the component and rewired the whole thing off to the side, away from the board. Seems to be working now, though i'm always a little unsure about the light. Spent almost as much in repair as i did for the light - WHAT A PAIN!

I really like how accurate the colour is on this.

Own other less expensive lights from Chinese companies (including a nanguang panel) and was not overly impressed with how magenta they seem to be. This light on the other hand is indistinguishable in colour from daylight. Little quirk to take note of. At around 85+% brightness it seems to emit a very high pitched whine, but there doesn't actually seem to be a difference in brightness between the 85% and 100% setting, so just leave it at 85%.
