Will this convert an HDMI signal from 1080p to 1080i?
I'm afraid not. This product is just a Bidirectional Converter that will change SDI to HDMI and HDMI to SDI. It does not do frame rate conversions and scaling. For that you would need to look at the DECIMATOR MD-HX, which is a HDMI/SDI Cross Converter with Scaling & Frame Rate Conversion.

question
I want to place this between a computer and projector looping through a Blackmagic ATEM. HDMI (Computer) - SDI (ATEM) - SDI (ATEM-AUX) - HDMI (Projector). The question is what happens if the ATEM is off. Will this automatically switch the projector to the Computer HDMI (Computer) - HDMI (Projector)?
As we see it, the outputs are always active so you should be good to go.

For the HDCP, is it set to pass through as copyrighted or uncopyrighted? The BM mini converters set to copyright, which is usually not an issue, but I want to covert my SDI camera feed to HDMI into a capture USB device. The USB sees the BM converter as copyrighted, won't pass it. So how does the Decimator output HDCP? Copyright on or off? Thanks
For your use, SDI out of the camera, it should be fine. It has worked for me with all recorders I have tried. I'm surprised your BM converter has that issue if you are coming directly out of camera. I would check to see if your USB capture device isn't the problem.

Does this include the power supply?
The unit is able to be powered from a USB port, but if you do not have a USB port available it does come with an adapter that you can connect the USB cable and plug into a 110 outlet.
