DECIMATOR DMON-QUAD Overview

The DMON-QUAD from DECIMATOR is a compact 4-channel 3G-SDI multiviewer and multiplexer for use in studios, post houses, and other professional video applications. It supports a variety of resolutions and formats up to 1080p60 over SDI, and can arbitrarily mix formats and aspect ratios. The four SDI inputs can be output simultaneously over the HDMI or SDI outputs for a quad-view display. Tally information can be supplied via the RJ-45 connector.

Supports 3G-SDI level A and B on inputs and output, allowing conversion between 3G level A and B
Comes with pre-programmed layouts, user-customized layouts possible
16-character UMD overlay and 8-channel audio metering overlay per window with individual on/off, custom positioning, and size adjustment
Horizontal and/or vertical image flipping per window
Audio ID overlay
Tallies can be applied to either tally boxes or the border (tally boxes allow for up to 4 tallies per window)
Fast switching between inputs using full-screen scaling
Selectable output format in both Full-Screen Multi-Viewer mode
Low latency frame buffering for each input allowing non-synchronous inputs
Linked SDI and HDMI outputs
Each SDI inputs is resolution and frame rate independent
Pass through mode allows an unprocessed signal to be output from both SDI and HDMI terminals simultaneously

the UI is a little bit tough to navigate. It makes sense eventually but good luck if you are trying to make quick adjustments with a producer tapping their feet... while you monkey with the menu system.

This quad multiviewer is awesome. I love decimator design products. It has so much versatility. UMD, tally, audio monitoring. The only negative is it isn't easily manipulated to make a layout. The default layouts are decent but if you want to be able to change a layout design on the fly this isn't your guy. I still give it 5 stars. There is quite a lot of versatility in this little package.

Yes, the DMON-QUAD 4-Channel Multiviewer does accept PAL format signals, such as 1080p resolution at 50 fps.

Hi! I am wondering when using two cameras, is it possible to have this box rotate the images 90 degrees? So I can have vertical monitor showing two cameras signal one on top, one at the bottom?

Hi! No, it only flips 180° vertically and horizontally. However, you can move the images so that 1 camers is above the other insteadof side by side. I have portrait vesa mounts so I can rotate the monitors 90° for when that happens.

The Decimator DMON-Quad can be used to show any number of windows from 1-4 and the windows can be arranged in custom layouts to give you control over how they are positioned.

Does anyone know if this device will de-embed audio when using this as a SDI to HDMI converter? I know there are smaller/cheaper products that do this but I like the versatility of having a multiviewer as well.

Hi Andrew, This is Jules from product support at Symbiosis, Decimator's master distributor for your region. The DMON-Quad will pass embedded audio from any of the four inputs to both SDI and HDMI outputs. When in multi-viewer mode, you can select which input's audio is passed to the outputs. When viewing an input as full-screen the audio from that input is passed. It does not have a separate audio only output. Mounting plates come with the DECIMATOR DMON-QUAD 4-Channel 3G-SDI Multiviewer, when you purchase it. Mounting plates for Decimator products are unavailable separately at this time.

Could this be used as a mini switcher? Needing to be able to go between two inputs using the buttons on the decimator without any break in signal to the output.

I just do the test, during the switching, the screen appear jumping! So I guess you can't use as a official video switcher.

I have an LG Oled TV 83' which I play video games ...

I have an LG Oled TV 83' which I play video games like Minecraft with my kids 6-8-10 yrs in Split Screen mode. Many other great games are single player like Zelda Breath of the wild. I don't want my kids playing in separate rooms, instead I want them to play together. I need Quad 4K Multiviewer PIP who can handle 4x inputs 1080p (4x PS4 or Wii U consoles) and display 1x output 4K I need a very fast Quad Multiviewer who can handle gaming, with latency or display lag no higher than 20 ms. My TV has around 10 ms display lag but none of the multiviewer sellers give information about the display lag or latency. I'm simply looking for a split screen technology which allows the kids to play together on the same screen instead of being alone in their rooms which I find being more lonly than couch co-op. All answers are highly appreciated and welcome.

I do not work for b and h but use this product professionally. This is a production tool for tv and film sets. You will get a delay on it because it is processing multiple images. It will be noticeable while gaming. This is ment for a non critical monitoring system. Unfortunately I don't know of a product that can do that. The other thing is this is ment to work with Sdi for you inputs then you can output with Sdi or hdmi. You would have to get individual converts for each input which makes this expensive. It's probably cheaper to buy a couple extra computer monitors and call it a day.

Can this replace my MD-HX convert SDI camera input, flip image horizontally and output 1080 HDMI to Atem switcher?

The DECIMATOR DMON-QUAD 4-Channel 3G-SDI Multiviewer is a multi-viewer and cannot replace the Decimator MD-HX. They are very different tools.
