Profoto 100399 Reviews
It Works..
They work. I can get a lot done. But the price just kills me. There is so much I can do with $400 than buy a power brick.
Great battery with more capacity than the first version
I have a number of Profoto B1 and B1X heads and was happy when this higher capacity battery was announced together with the B1X head, while being fully compatible with the older B1 heads. The battery also has an LED bar indicating its charge, which is very handy when the battery is not on the strobe and you want to quickly check battery charge status.
Well Designed, but Heavy
These batteries hold a charge well and have a lot of capacity, although I haven't had them long enough to see how long of a life they have. They mount easily on the B-1X and are easy to handle and charge, but they are heavy. Two additional batteries fit easily into Profoto's Two-Light Travel Kit.
Worth it!
Work with Speedotron, Elinchrom, Browns. So happy for getting my 2 additional Profoto lighting.
Easy recharge
Easy to use and extras are a great backup
Not reliable
I spent about $2500 on the Profoto light and the the inside of the battery expanded and cracked. When I sent it to Profoto they would not replace the battery saying it had been dropped (which it had not). It is a shame one of the most expensive lighting systems does not back up their products
Regret buying in to a system with poor battery performance
The ease of Profoto units is great but regret buying due to the money I've poured money into replacement batteries that die way too soon for a battery costing over $380. I have spent over $2660 on batteries. the unit is great but batteries are terrible.
Died too young
I purchased this battery as a replacement for the original one which came with the light u purchased here on B&H. That one i used around 20 or something sessions, during a 5 year period. And then it died. From my perspective, the lifetime of the battery isn't worth the price. I'll count how many days this one lasts. I'll report back when it dies.
