Good the bright light display is a deal breaker

I've had this almost 2 months, but just setup a couple weeks ago. I had a very old Midland that I replaced, and it receives much better in the same area, I am very rural. I've only had one alert, but we've had a lot in surrounding counties but not here, so that is a huge improvement, which is why I bought, because the old one went off so much you couldn't use it. My biggest complaint is the most important place to use it is in bedroom, and light is very detrimental to good sleep, the switch is already there for low/high, but it is way too bright on low. I would not buy this brand or model again for this reason, with that button already there, there is no reason it couldn't have an off.

After many years we replaced our weather alert radio. This radio allows us to program the areas we need to know about and will not wake us for alerts we don't need to be concerned about. I like that I can program in local radio stations and has an alarm clock also.

Will the Panasonic Eneloop AA batteries be compatible as backup power for the WR400?
In response to the question as to whether the Midland WR400 Deluxe NOAA Weather Radio can use Panasonic Eneloop AA batteries as backup power, B&H stated that the radio “cannot USE or charge Panasonic Eneloop or other rechargeable AA batteries”. It may not be able to recharge such batteries, but they should certainly be usable for backup power, being externally recharged as needed over the life of the battery.
