ALZO 123 Overview

This Quick Release System for Select Camera Tripods from ALZO adds a compact quick release system to tripods with a small-diameter center column and screw plate. The bottom of the plate features a 1/4"-20 screw mount for connecting to a tripod, and this system uses a Snap Lock to prevent the accidental release of the camera. The plate attaches to any camera with a 1/4"-20 connection, and the unit is also compatible with the separately available Flip Flash Bracket.

Is this compatible with the QR plates used on the ...

Is this compatible with the QR plates used on the Manfrotto Advanced Compact Tripod (200PL plates?)

From the customer who first asked the question: I have received the ALZO product and it sort of fits, but only one way. The Manfrotto Advanced Compact Tripod mechanism will fit the ALZO plates, but the Manfrotto plates that came with the tripod are a couple of millimeters too wide for the ALZO mechanism. It seems well built (better than the $13 "clone" available on the web) although the basic design is the same. It is about half the price of the Manfrotto QR system available from B&H, but I can't comment on any quality differences between them. It does make me wonder if the Manfrotto QR mechanism would accept the Manfrotto plates that came with the tripod, since the design appears similar. Anyhow the price was right, and with the couple of extra plates that do fit, it does the job and I will be keeping it.
