Strong, Sturdy & Secure

I use this to mount my Sony HDR-CX675 Handycam in my wood shop studio. I clamp it to various stuff for viewpoint changes rather than as a fixed ceiling mount. (I plan to replace it with a bigger articulated mounting system. Someday.) Pros - easily re-clamped to new positions as needed. It is made from 1/4 by 1 aluminum bar stock. Certainly strong enough for this small camera. Ball mount is sturdy & secure enough too. There is plenty of room to swivel the camera to any angle - i.e. it is big enough for me. Cons - the ball mount is hard to re-set but it would be OK as a permanent fixture. I would recommend this. - Mike

The camera mount worked perfect. Very sturdy materials no plastic. I gave it a four-star because the screws on the top do not sit flush with the plate. I had to groove out two holes in my drywall to make the plate sit flush on the ceiling. Other than that, excellent product.
