The Macro Focusing Rail with Screw-Knob Clamp from Sunwayfoto gives you the ability to precisely adjust your camera fore-or-aft when shooting macro photography. The clamp at the top is Arca-type compatible and locks down with a screw-knob. The focusing rail itself has a double-dovetail mount and will fit most Arca-type clamps on the market.

The Macro Focusing rail has both a ratchet handle, for fast and quick adjustments, and a thumb-screw knob along with engraved index marks on the side of the rail for fine adjustments. The CNC machined T6061 aluminum rail holds a maximum weight capacity of 15.4 lb, but may hold less weight once the angle of the rail is changed.

The Type III black anodized aluminum is scuff and scratch resistant and the finish is also resistant against corrosion. In addition, two focusing rails can be stacked for dual axis adjustments (fore-or-aft and lateral). Located on the bottom of the plate are two safety stop screws to prevent any accidental pulling or falling out of the rail when a clamp is partially open.

Macro Focusing Rail with Screw-Knob Clamp is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from impressive quality for the price This is a great macro rail for the price. It's got a very simple mechanism with no real play in the tolerances between the moving parts that results in smooth camera movement. The rail is very light and has a low profile so it doesn't take up much room at all. There's nothing I can really fault with the design. While it's obvious that the handle introduces a fair amount of wobble due to the off-centre rotation, the wobble is largely from the tripod and head and is only noticeable if you were to try and move the rail from one end to the other quite fast. For focus stacking, this shouldn't be an issue and if so you can always use the thumb screw on the other end.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid rail for the money Prices are all over the place for focusing rails, so I did a lot of homework. Others in this price range and lower $ are too flimzy. For macro, stability is the name of the game and this rail provides that plus a little longer focus range than most others. There is some play when changing directions, but that does not affect the stacking work flow once you get started. Will work best on an Arca base. Alternatively there are two 3/8" holes for mounting, but they are offset to accomodate the center worm bolt. Using these provides less than optimal stabilty. Buys this or spend a couple hundred $ more.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality affordable focusing rail This is a well made, affordable focus rail. The only reason I did not give it 5-stars is because it would be handy to be able to release the block from the screw to be able to move it from one end to the other quickly without turning the screw. Screw moves smoothly, though. Takes some effort, as I know would be the case with any focus rail, to learn how much movement is needed for a given focal length is object distance to maximize what you're trying to do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from exactly as requred Looks well made, fits snugly into my Acratech ballhead, and works smoothly. I like the adjustment from both ends. Right now I am using it with an Olympus Air for macro-scientific work and it is exactly as required.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice macro rail This is probably the best price value macro rail. It looks similar to kirk and rrs but priced much better.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from not so good the rail but when i start turning thehandlethe camera base start to go left and right while i'm turning and it is not because of my hand movement. it seems thelead screw rod isbent which causing the imprecise movements. Over all the rails is well belt and solid.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An essential tool for macro The combination of quality and price make this a no brainer. You can spend a great deal more money but you may not get a more functional tool. The acra mount is fantastic. The whole unit is rock solid.
