Tenba Roller 21 Overview

The Roadie Roller 21 from Tenba is a rolling camera case that is designed to be stylish and meet the carry-on requirements for most international and US airlines. Crafted using a thoughtful design and minimal branding, the Roadie Roller 21 features a distinctive appearance without drawing unwanted attention to the equipment inside.

A large, main compartment with adjustable dividers can hold a complete kit for many photographers, while the interior of the main compartment lid features four, clear mesh panels for easy identification of their contents. The Roadie Roller 21 can fit two, gripped DSLR camera bodies with a 400mm f/2.8 lens or eight to ten smaller lenses, along with flashes and accessories.

Together with the adjustable dividers, a removable insert is provided that can also help partition equipment inside the Roadie Roller 21. Upon reaching one's destination, the insert is transferable to a separate shoulder bag or backpack to further cushion a camera, plus two to three lenses for on-the-go use. When used with a separately-available Tenba Tools Packlite Travel Bag for BYOB 10, the removable insert installs with a precise fit.

On the exterior of the case is a pocket designed specifically for a separately-available, portable battery bank. Smartphones, computer tablets, or laptops can be quickly and conveniently recharged when in transit, while a drop-in tripod carrier allows camera supports to be strapped to the side of the Roadie Roller 21. Additionally, an integrated add-a-bag strap consolidates other luggage along the front of the case for easy transport of multiple carry-ons through airports, hotels, or parking lots.

Aside from being able to comfortably hold photo gear, the case's zippered front pocket organizer provides storage for pens, business cards, passports, airplane tickets, as well as small electronics, and features a padded sleeve with an interior divider for most 17" laptops. The laptop sleeve is positioned so that its contents can be readily accessed, whether for faster processing through airport security or to maximize work-related productivity during travel. Four handles are included for flexibility while transporting or moving the case, a two-stage telescoping top handle, a leather-trimmed non-telescoping top handle, a side handle, and a bottom handle that makes it easier to pick up and place the case into airplane overhead bins or into car trunks.

For peace-of-mind in crowded settings, a built-in TSA-approved combination lock secures the main compartment zipper. To chain the case to an immovable object such as a pole, an integrated, braided-steel side cable is included along with an additional TSA-approved combination lock.

A honeycomb internal frame with nylon construction throughout provides the bag with a high degree of weather resistance and overall durability, which is further complemented by wheel housings that help protect the reinforced corners of the case from impacts to escalators and curbs. A rain cover is included for even more protection from the elements should the need arise, and if they wear out over time, the wheels, wheel housings, foot stands, and telescoping top handle are user-replaceable.

  • Fits two, gripped DSLR camera bodies with a 400mm f/2.8 lens or eight to ten smaller lenses, along with flashes and accessories

  • Soft interior and flexible, removable internal dividers for camera equipment
  • Removable insert further divides camera equipment and is transferable to a separate shoulder bag or backpack to further cushion a camera, plus two to three lenses for on-the-go use. Installs with a precise fit when used with a separately-available Tenba Tools Packlite Travel Bag for BYOB 10

Great rolling bag

This is my third rolling bag and second Tenba Roadie 21. My 1st tenba is 10 years old and finally wearing out after heavy use. I also have a Think Tank rolling bag and while it’s good, then new Tenba holds more and the quality has improved quite a bit. I can fit 2 Canon pro bodies with lenses attached, a 300 f2.8 and a 100-400 plus other wide angles lenses, batteries, charger and card cases. I love that I can fit my laptop and portable drives too! Buy this bag, you won’t be sorry.

I originally bought the Think Tank International bag and wasnt a fan. I went with this Tenba and have zero regrets. I do not use the insert, so that was removed from the bag. I used a couple dividers to lay on the bottom to add additional padding since the insert was removed. In my bag, I have a Nikon D750 and D3400. A Tamron 100-400mm, Nikon 24-120mm, Nikon 18-55mm, Sigma 10-20mm, a speedlight, large dust blower, three battery chargers, three filters in their original cases, two battery bags, a Lee filters ND filter with Cokin filter holder, a Spider holster, a wireless trigger system, and additional small accessories like SD cards, backup hard drive, cleaning cloths, etc. In the past I have put my Mavic Air drone and controller in the bag as well. I absolutely love how the top of the bag has straps that hold the bag open, rather than the top folding over and laying on the ground like other roller bags. I couldnt ask for a better bag!

I actually purchased a think tank prior to purchasing the tenba. Which I ended up returning. I love this tenba! The padding is wonderful. Extremely sturdy and I definitely feel my gear is protected. I can store 2 D750s, 35mm, 50mm, 60mm, 85mm, 70-200mm, 2 flashes, video light, and accessories. I love having all my gear for weddings in one location.

Not for DSLR Kits

This seems like it was made with mirrorless in mind. It fits 2 dslr bodies and about 5 lenses. But the space is utilized rather poorly in my opinion. To maximize space you have to store one body without a lens attached which is shame. I like to grab my cameras ot of the bag ready to shoot.

A Pro Case For a Working Pro!

I am going to love this case. I finally have a roller that handles two Pro bodies and just about any combination of lenses that I need for the job as well as my drone and flashes if needed. I had the Tenba Roadie 18 for almost 10 years. It was built like a tank, but it wasn't quite deep enough for the pro body with lens attached. It was wearing out and the Roadie Roller 21 was my logical choice. I didn't really think about another brand of case.

Better than a Think Tank bag!

I've had both the Think Tank Airport bag and this Tenba Roadie for over a year and the quality of the Tenba is superior. There is more room inside, the wheels and handle are MUCH better and the zippers don't get stuck! Buy the Tenba, you won't regret it.

question

Is there any place I can put my name on the bag? I like that it is super sleek but surely there has to be a spot to put identification?
Asked by: Diego
There is a window for a business card inside the laptop sleeve on the front of the case.
