I have a video camera (1080i) in our center field baseball field that is roughly 600ft away from our switcher. Can I connect two of these together and still have a good signal? Or will I need a signal booster?
Indeed. A signal booster or other hardware interface that inherently boosts the signal and rebroadcasts would be required. I believe the approximate max distance for an SDI signal is 328feet or about 100meters. Additionally, I have also found this only to be really true with higher quality cables.
