The TUBE ULTRAGAIN T1953 from Behringer is a 2-channel, microphone/line preamplifier that utilizes selected 12AX7 tubes in a constantly variable "tube effect" side-chain stage. A separate, per-channel VU meter provides a visual context for the amount of distortion the tube circuitry is generating.
Each channel also features a switchable +48V phantom power switch, a polarity reverse switch, and a constantly variable high-pass filter. A microphone trim control provides up to 60dB of gain, and a level control sets the appropriate amount of signal gain at the input of the tube stage.
