The Adjustable Pole with Socket and Fixed Ends from Impact is a handy accessory with uses far in excess of its original purpose of creating a short support for the backlight stand's base. The pole is adjustable from 20 to 34" for use as a microphone pole or a mobile light or flash support that can be handheld by an assistant. At one end of the pole is a fixed 5/8" stud that is compatible with most 5/8" receivers. It also has a 3/8"-16 male thread for greater mounting flexibility. The other end of the pole has a reversible, removable 5/8" stud with both 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 male threads to attach to gear with matching sockets. Removing the stud converts the bottom of the stand into a 5/8" receiver that, since it's compatible with most stands' studs, allows you to use the pole as a light stand extension. A clever feature of the receiver is an additional 5/8" receptacle in the receiver's side, allowing stand mounting horizontally as a mini boom to hold reflectors or lightweight gear.

Impact LS-3SAP Reviews
Very wobbly

It's functional, but is of surprisingly low quality compared to other Impact products. My main issue with it is that the spigot at one end is riveted in very poorly, and as a result is very wobbly. The rest of the materials in the pole are pretty cheap, but if the issue with the wobbly spigot was resolved, I think it would actually be a good option for the price.
great features with a flaw

Would be a perfect item if the bases did not wobble on the 1 rivet design at each end.

How much weight can this pole support/suspend vertically?
The manufacturer does not publish a load limit for this boom but it would work well for a speedlight or reflector or light weight light. For a heavy monolight or large modifier a steel boom on a c stand would be a better choice.

Could I mount this pole into a super clamp?
I'm thinking of attaching the clamp to my desk, mount this in there and affix a light at the top.
Yes it can be used with a super clamp.

Can this be used as an extension for the Impact Telescoping Tabletop Light Stand
BH #IMLS12 MFR #LS-12 ?
While this Impact Adjustable Pole with Socket and Fixed Ends could be used as an extension for the Impact Telescoping Tabletop Light Stand, there will be a reduction in the load capacity that the stand is able to handle. Your results may vary.
