Synchron Drums I Full Library from Vienna Symphonic Library is a virtual instrument with a library that captures the sound and character of a snare drum, a bass drum, two tambourines, and eight concert toms, masterfully played in Synchron Stage Vienna – one of world's best-sounding scoring stages. The instruments were recorded with every nuanced detail using seven, phase-controlled multi-microphone setups which can be mixed to create stereo, 5.1 surround or Auro 3D mixes, each with different levels of ambience and stereo panorama.
Synchron Drums I is powered by the included Vienna Instruments and Vienna Instruments Pro players, or using the company's mixing hosts Vienna Ensemble and Vienna Ensemble Pro (available separately). This 69.3GB library comprises more than 97,076 samples with a wide variety of timbres and articulations. The Kolberg "Piano-Forte" snare drum was recorded with and without the snares engaged, with single strokes in five positions on the drum, in up to 16 dynamic layers and eight variants, using brushes, rods, and mallets. Articulations include rolls in various dynamics and lengths, flams, hits played on the shell, "stick on stick" variations, as well as crescendo and diminuendo rolls that are available in various lengths and intensities, and which can be stopped at any time with the matching release sample being triggered.
The Kolberg "Dicke Bertha" bass drum was captured with a wide variety of articulations such as single strokes in 16 dynamic layers, various rolls, and effects with three different mallets. It offers extra-low tunings which you can use to expand the frequency range of your arrangements, as well as "superball" effects created by striking an elastic rubber ball over the head of the drum, ideal for creating contemporary soundscapes.
The eight, suspended Yamaha 9000 Series concert toms with top and bottom heads were set up as a battery (6" to 16"). Single strokes were recorded with four different beaters (sticks, rods, brushes, and mallets), in various positions on the heads, with up to 16 dynamic layers. Original new sounds were created by playing the toms by rasping sticks on their rims. Completing the collection, two different tambourines (Lefima 2091-A and Kolberg 2030 DW) were captured with single strokes, flams, tremolos ("shakes"), and thumb rolls, in various velocities and lengths.
Note: Software requires a ViennaKey USB protection device or other USB eLicenser, if one is not already on the system (available separately).
