Cheap, smelly plastic

This is an extremely cheap plastic, not a quality item. It smells. The latches are weak and will probably break over time, and not hold the case shut tight. But, it is inexpensive, and if you're okay with that, worth considering. I have a Rycote WS-4, which is a fairly long blimp with pistol grip, and it can fit in here if I take one of the ends of the blimp/windjammer off. Along with the Sennheiser 416, and the windcover, this is a pretty small case that I use to put it inside another shipping/travel case. For daily use, though, I suggest something else.

The inside diameter of the HCSA40 case is 18.2". The Rode blimp system is 19.3". I believe you would have to remove the end cap of the Rode blimp for it to fit into the case.

The Rycote Super-Blimp Kit for Rode NTG should just barely fit inside the Cavision ABS Hard Case for SPS810M Suspension System with Windshield & Wind Cover, but it will be a tight fit.
