I presently own a flurry of Kupo gear: about 25 gripheads, 6 stands, a dozen extenders and such, both sizes of your complete flag kits, laptop tray, L brackets, baby and junior receivers and angle adjusters, a menagerie of specialty clamps, counterweights and many other such misc. things I’m surely forgetting. Most of the time I’m impressed, and always so far I’m at least happy with the item. This now is the exception. I own many flag frames, and never have I seen one with the perimeter tubing radically thinner than the brace and pin tubing. It arrived already slightly bent, even though the packaging is immaculate, seemingly just under its own weight! It clearly cannot take the rigors of the road, much less wind buffeting. Even in my studio, I would worry about assistants damaging it, and how much care I need give it. Again, I cannot overstate: It flexes and bows under its own weight, so just stretching cloth onto it seems certain to cause a concave, convex, or worst of all: complex surface, and hence [even if durability is altogether ignored] influence the bounce and diffusion properties. I cannot recommend strongly enough that this item be removed from production. It seems nearly designed to harm the reputation of Kupo gear; it has certainly stalled my own faith.
I received this 48x48 frame after waiting 2 months for a backorder, and I'm so disappointed! This frame is made from very flimsy materials. If you stand it up by the pin it sags, and flops around. I wouldn't trust this with in any professional setting. It bends like a coat hanger!
