    Godox TT685N reviews

TT685N Thinklite TTL Flash for Nikon Cameras is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best system to invest in I did a fair bit of research on 3rd party speedlights before investing in Godox system. I felt that the 1st party flashes were too overpriced, and this seemed like a cheap enough flash to experiment with. But that experiment turned out to be a great success and I've been a happy customer for the past couple years. I ended up buying 3 more of them to use together in different arrangements, and have never had any issues with them, like, ever. Even works as optical slave to Nikon's CLS system through my D750's pop-up flash. Couldn't recommend more.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice piece of equipment I was impressed with the substantial build of this flash, seems like will last for a long time. As others have mentioned the instructions aren't that great but they do cover most important areas. i would suggest using brand new batteries in this flash. Started with what i thought were fresh batteries and I could hardly get it to turn on! Fresh batteries fixed the issue and subsequent testing of my original batteries showed then with not enough charge. The test shots on my Nikon using TTL were all very good, exposure was quite accurate.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Still learning This is my first speedlight and I am still learning. Unfortunately, the instructions that come with the unit assume you know what every function is. After reviewing several tutorials on youtube, I not only have a better understanding of how it works, but I have a greater appreciation for its value. Most experienced users give it high marks and rate it as an exceptional value. Good news for a newbie. So far so good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing! I am quite impressed by this unit! At 1/16 power, it froze the wings of a hummingbird that filled the frame, syncing with 1/8000 sec on camera. It is very solidly built. It is almost dangerously powerful. I was resting it face down on my jeans and accidentally thumbed the test button while on full power manual. There is now a slight burn mark on my jeans, where all the denim fuzz got crisped. So, it's not a toy. One negative, the unit does not work within about 1' of the camera in most orientations. That's a bummer for macro flower photographers. Get a wire and deal with the tangle inconvenience. Cycle time is a limitation, but I'm not sure if that's true for more expensive units from Nikon. At 6 FPS on my D7200, it fires about one time in three, but those are well lit. --jh--

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Using the Thinklite This was the first time I had used a really good TTL flash since using a film camera. Although I had intended to use it manually, the TTL feature with a built-in retractable bounce card and diffuser is giving me such good results, I have not yet tried to use it on manual! Intend to try soon. Very pleased!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Flash The TT685N replaced a Metz 32CT4 which I got for my Nikon FE 38 years ago. The Metz is still working fine with my D7200 and D5100, the obvious downside is no TTL. In TTL mode, the TT685N always under exposed a little bit but is easy to deal with by exposure compensation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Flash and Value I am very impressed with this flash and its versatility. Its optical and wireless options have worked flawlessly. I use it both as a master or slave with the x pro trigger and get accurate exposure in TTL mode. It can also be used with Nikon's iTTL system. I use it with the Godox AD200 and Magmod products

Rated 2 out of 5 by from regular it's too slow to recycle, It has good construction, it heats up very fast at maximum power. there are many better
