Well build, sturdy, easy to clamp, standard 1/4 thread in shoe bottom. Only down side is the the rotating clutch is not infinitely variable as it has toothed surfaces. I actually like that because it will hold heavier loads with less effort and more positional reliability.

I thought this Godox shoe bracket would be mostly metal, but its mostly plastic. One advantage (maybe?) is that its very light. The shoe plate and the top stud are metal. The construction seems decent despite the plastic. The tilting part ratchets up & down with distinct clicks, which is reassuring. The 2 locking collars have notches that make them easy to grab — a good design. It remains to be see how well this device works in practice.
