Godox 5" Umbrella Reflector Reviews

Didn't produce useful results for me...

I tried this with a shallow reflector umbrella, and at all positions of the shaft it had a negative effect. With a bare bulb it provides some protection and safety, but doesn't do much to control the light. A 7" reflector would work much better in that case. I did not try it with a shoot-through umbrella, so perhaps it has some benefit there. It fits all my monolights OK, with adequate clearance for the shaft.

The description calls it a reflector, and it is. That is all it is and easily attaches to my Godox Strobe Light

I just noticed that it's listed as an "umbrella reflector", I certainly didn't buy it for that purpose. It's a narrow angle reflector which means it probably won't get in the way of the light source's umbrella mount, but it's not going to work well. The light spread from this reflector is too narrow to fill most umbrellas, unless you're using a tiny umbrella or you have a huge distance between light source and umbrella (which makes the mounting hole a moot point). You could use a diffuser, if you don't mind losing a stop of light for no reason...
