Syrp Magic Carpet Overview

This B&H Kit combines the Syrp 3.3 ft Medium Track with the matching Carriage and End Caps into a complete Syrp Magic Carpet Slider. The advantage of this slider is that it allows you to switch out the track for other-sized ones (sold separately). The system supports up to 15.4 lb and features a brake, bubble level, and reversible 3/8"-16 and 1/4"-20 screw for attaching a camera, ball head, or tripod head.

Syrp Magic Carpet Carriage and End Caps

The Magic Carpet Carriage and End Caps from Syrp are designed for use with either the Magic Carpet 2.6' Short Track or 5.2' Long Track. The Carriage easily slides into the end of the track and includes a brake, a bubble level, and a reversible 3/8"16 and 1/4"-20 threaded screw to attach either a camera, ballhead, or tripod head.

The two End Caps slot into the end of the tracks and have adjustable quick release legs which are easily adjusted by pulling out a lever, without the need for additional tools. The End Caps also include Genie rope lock-off hooks which enable the Syrp Genie Motion Control Time Lapse Device to be easily attached and locked off. Additionally, the end caps have a counter balance wheel which allows for vertical slides with heavier cameras. The Genie rope is simply tied off around the carriage and then thread through the counter balance wheel. A weight is used to offset the camera weight.

 • Carriage and End Caps are universal to the Magic Carpet system and fit either the Short Track or Long Track
 • Brake and bubble level on Carriage
 • Reversible 3/8"-16 and 1/4"-20 threaded screw for attaching camera, ballhead, or tripod head
 • End Caps with adjustable quick release legs
 • Genie rope lock off hooks for using with Genie Motion Control Time Lapse Device

question

Hi, i have this slider and a Surui tripod. Could you tell me which plate can i use for mounting the Magic Carpet on my tripod? Thanks.
Asked by: Mariano F.
If by plate you mean the two sets of rails that come in Kit, you can use either set of on a tripod. Simply attach the tripods quick release plate to the middle screw hole. Do be cognoscente that you need a robust tripod if you have a heavy camera and video head particularly if you use the 5.2' rail set. Otherwise you may fall over.

question

How can I choose the right tripod to use with the magic carpet?
Asked by: Otavio
I attach a tripod on one end and a light stand on the other side and it works great. If you want to shoot video with it I would get a head like this: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/827210-REG/Manfrotto_MVH502AH_75Mm_Flat_Head.html It hooks right on the slider and works great. If you are doing timelapse then get a head like the one Syrp sells.

question

Can this slider be used vertically?
Asked by: Philipp
Yes it can. But I suggest using proper camera and grip gear for best result. L camera mount or solid stand for vertical mount. And proper offset weight to camera via counterweight rollers on the ends of the slider.
