ASUS GT 1030 Overview

Based on NVIDIA's Pascal architecture, the ASUS GeForce GT 1030 Low-Profile Graphics Card provides major improvements in performance, memory bandwidth, and power efficiency over its predecessor, the high-performance Maxwell architecture.

The front panel of the card features a variety of outputs. There is an HDMI 2.0b output and a DVI-D output. The GT 1030 is not just about high-resolution gaming. Computationally intensive programs can utilize the GPU's 384 cores to accelerate tasks using CUDA or other APIs.

For cooling, ASUS implemented a passive heatsink.

CUDA

With CUDA, NVIDIA allows applications to hand off CPU-intensive tasks to the GPU. Your GPU is no longer just used for rendering graphics, but it can provide teraflops of floating point performance and accelerate application tasks, from real-time video rendering to fluid dynamics simulation. CUDA is used in many applications and games.

NVIDIA GPU Boost 3.0

Boosts the card's clock speed in real-time based on the target temperature. If the card is running below the set target temperature, GPU Boost 3.0 will increase the clock speed to improve performance. The target temperature can be reset depending on your preference so you can have the card run more quietly for everyday tasks and older games, and run at full tilt during intense high-resolution gaming sequences.

I don't have a lot of experience with graphics cards. But this one was an easy install and seems to work good to me. Shipping was good, price was good, easy transaction with B&H!

Dead on arrival & no support from BH Photo.  Down the drain.

Purchased this in December using BH''s Payboo card for a new build BAD mistake. I computed the build this month and found the card does not work at all. A useless brick. BH refused to do anything to help. In a situation like this I usually can contact my credit card company AMEX to make things right, but unfortunately I used BH Payboo to save a little. The card is a brick and after repeated emails and phone call to BH they told me point blank they would do nothing because this is industry practice. WRONG BH. Some sellers have 3 mos. return policies and others, like Amazon, make exceptions in situations such as this where a brand new product does not work at all. Fooled me once, shame on you BH.

Worked as expected. Used it in an older MB EVGA i680. Windows 7 recognized it no problem. Drivers seemed to work from the Nvidia site too. So good buy for the price. MB didn't have integrated login and it replaced a GTS 8600 so anything was gonna be better.

The Roblox Slayer

I bought a pair of these so my children would stop playing Roblox at 29fps with the integrated Intel graphics. It was making my eyes hurt. These can run Roblox, full quality shaders, at 60fps @ 1080p. Minecraft w/o shaders runs well above 160fps on a 4th gen i5 and will handle medium/high shaders in the mid-40s. My kids have tell all their friends they have shaders. I guess that's important in 2021. I installed a few current AAA games to test and it's surprisingly able to run many of them @ 1080p/720p with low settings but is probably best suited to games before 2015. Considering the price point and the fact that the card is silent it's a decent value.
