The Libec ZC-LP LANC Zoom Control enables remote REC start/stop and zoom control for LANC-equipped Sony and Canon cameras, and it supports select Panasonic cameras. Libec ZC Overview

The Libec ZC-LP LANC Zoom Control enables remote REC start/stop and zoom control for LANC-equipped Sony and Canon cameras, and it supports select Panasonic cameras. The zoom control clamps onto your tripod handle or any rod with a diameter from .39 to 1.77". It features a 2.3' long cable with a 2.5mm sub-mini plug for connecting and controlling your camera. In addition to the start/stop record button, the control unit comes with an invert switch that changes the direction of the zoom's response to the rocker. The zoom control also features a switch that allows you to change the protocol from LANC to Panasonic.

  • Zoom speed can be adjusted by tilting the rocker
  • The Inverted Switch is a new function that changes the zoom direction when the control is attached faced down
  • Smooth and precise zoom controls with a smart double-sided rocker design enables you to have smooth and precise zoom controls
  • The clamp can be attached to round tubes up to 45mm in diameter, wide enough to fit the TH-M Monopod grip

I needed a new zoom rocker that could work with Panasonic and Sony. This one has a switch for either camera setup. Also feels really good to the touch!

So, each of my Panasonic camcorders has this Libec ZC-LP LANC Zoom Controller. The built-in mount is big enough to fit anything I use. The lever has just the right amount of pressure, Switching modes is easy to see and you won't accidently change the settings.

Given that the cable cannot be unplugged (and potentially replaced) on this model (unlike the older ZC-3DV, which had two 2.5mm jacks), how reliable/robust is the cable connection ? Have any owners had the cable 'go bad' ? If I purchase one, I want it to last.

No, there are no LANC ports on the Lumix FZ300 and this is a LANC based controller.
