Sunwayfoto ET-02 Overview

Increase the height of your tripod with the ET-02 Tripod Extension Tube from Sunwayfoto. This extension tube screws onto your tripod plate's 1/4"-20 or 3/8"-16 screw to add up to 16.7" to its maximum height. Once you are done shooting, collapse the tube to 10" for simpler transport.

This 2-section tube is operated by a simple twist lock, and the mounting screw can be attached under the tripod head or directly into the camera. The tube is constructed of carbon fiber material, which makes it corrosion-resistant. This material also keeps the extension tube at a modest 5 ounces, making it easy to carry and use. A load capacity of 22 lb and a 1.5" top plate diameter allow for a wide variety of camera equipment to be mounted. This extension tube comes with bushing adapters and will fit any tripod with a 1/4" or 3/8" mounting stud.

Fantastic Portable Extension

Like another review stated, the 1/4-20 thread is already built in and designed well but not obvious at first. Simply start threading and the larger thread is spring loaded and recesses nicely which means you don't lose the thread adapter. I bought this for a couple different uses. I wanted to extend a 360 camera with a firm extension threaded on a magnetic base and works amazingly well and the extension is light enough to not make the mount heavy at the opposite end of the magnet. My other use was to extend my tripod just a few more inches so I don't have to stoop for long periods of time when shooting wildlife with a telephoto and this seems to work with my gimbal mounted 600mm lens. Haven't field tested it for all day use yet.

Are these stackable? Thinking of a way to use them on a floor mounted 48” slider where using a handheld gimbal cannot be used in tightly confined areas.

While you could stack these tubes, you would end up losing stability.

I purchased one of these and the top came with a 3/8" to 1/4" adapter already installed. However, I cannot remove the adapter so that I can use it to mount a camera with a 1/4" screw mount. Has anyone else had this problem?
Asked by: James
Yes, the threaded stud has a spring loaded 3/8" collar, when pressed down, reveals a 1/4-20" thread.
