Angelbird 128GB UHS-II SDXC overview

  • 1Description

Designed for high bit depths, frame rates, and resolutions, including Full HD, 4K, and 3D video, as well as raw and continuous burst photography in DSLR and drone systems, the 128GB AV Pro UHS-II SDXC Memory Card from Angelbird features a storage capacity of 128GB and takes advantage of the UHS-II bus to support sustained read speeds of 300 MB/s and sustained write speeds of 260 MB/s. This card has also been designed with the V90 Video Speed Class rating, which guarantees minimum write speeds of 90 MB/s.

UHS-II media achieves its speed through an extra row of pins and while this card has been designed for cameras that are UHS-II / V90 compatible, it may be used in devices that do not support UHS-II / V90. However, bear in mind that this card will then default to your device's speed class and bus rating, such as UHS-II and V60, which supports minimum write speeds of 60 MB/s, UHS-II and V30, which supports minimum write speeds of 30 MB/s, or UHS-I and U3, which also supports minimum write speeds of 30 MB/s. If your device does not support U3, this card is compatible with the U1 and Class 10 standards, each of which guarantees minimum write speeds of 10 MB/s.

Built for extreme conditions, Angelbird's 128GB AV Pro UHS-II SDXC Memory Card is protected against water, shock, x-rays, magnets, and temperatures ranging from -13 to 185°F. Also featured is ECC data reliability, wear leveling, and power management for low power usage. A built-in write protect switch helps to safeguard your content from being erased. Included is an activation code for the full limited warranty and additional free software licenses and content.

    Angelbird 128GB UHS-II SDXC reviews

128GB AV Pro UHS-II SDXC Memory Card is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Excited to get them, but let down I was told by a youTuber that these are the best for the GH5 and the 400mb all i codec for writes speeds. I was excited to shoot video using them, and with no worries. The first day of use, I had a card error and the card wasn't writing data fast enough, (this happened on one card, but once was enough for me to not have faith). I had to swap back to my Lexar 150mbs cards to work. I am mad that I spent so much money on these cards thinking they would be the best option. I shoot weddings with two GH5's and I just blew $400 for two cards on garbage. Maybe I got bad card, but that just pushed me over. I will keep shooting with my Lexar cards at 150mbs instead of the "300 Mbs" write speed by these Angel birds.. or devilbirds?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent for GH5 - 400mbps recording. If you need v90 speeds and you don't want to lose your shot due to read limits, this card has been reliable thus far on the GH5. Recording on Cinema 4K, 24fps, All-Intra, 400mbps for the past two weeks whilst encountering no issues related to card. Card runs fast, and closes your shot quickly too after you've finished recording (0.5 - 1 second?). Perfect for run and gun shooting. Appears and feels strong in construction. I used this with the GH5 for 2 hours in -20 degrees Celsius. Other thoughts? Though you may argue that it is pricey, I prefer to err on the side of paying more than losing a valuable shot. These cards are not on sale, perhaps still too early and low demand. Perhaps a 256 GB card or getting the dual 128GB might be the better deal, considering you'll get approximately 40 minutes of record time at 400mbps.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from One Outta Three The first one I bought is still working fine, though I'm a little afraid of it because the next two I bought caused me grief. They freeze up my GH5 & GH5s. The cameras need to have the battery pulled to get them to stop 'shutting down'. The clip that was being recorded when it happens are corrupted and unusable. Not sure why/how the card has such an effect on the camera, but it's a pain. (and I wasn't even shooting at 400mbs, I was at 4k 150mbs)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just works as advertised I have a couple off their cards which I use for my daily work with the GH5 and X-T2 without any issues. GH5 v2.1, 400mbps in backup rec. mode does work fine too.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Freezing and very slow playback on GH5 I do not recommend these cards at all for the Panasonic GH5. I brought these like many who were excited and eager to start shooting with our new cameras only to have them freeze or slow the camera to an unusable crawl. The problem arises when opening the playback menu. Recording to the cards so far has been fine although I haven't recorded clips longer than a few minutes so they're not out of the clear in that area just yet. When opening the playback menu the camera freezes or at best takes a good 30-40s to open a file for review. Navigating files is also treacherous as it can freeze up at any given moment. Overall my experience with these cards has been bad and for a run and gun set up these will cause you to miss valuable shots while you swear at your camera and pull the battery out. Maybe a firemware update could fix these or simply poor manufacturing where some cards work fine (judging by other peoples reviews) and others run slow. Either way I would look elsewhere.
