Vanguard VEO 2 265CB Tripod with BH-50 Ball H... Reviews
Well designed travel tripod and ball head
The tripod and ball head are both well designed and well engineered with many nice features that make this model stand out. Because it folds so compactly it takes a while to assemble the tripod, especially if you swap the center column for the smaller one. The ball head will support a full frame dslr with 70-200mm lens, but the ball gives with slight hand pressure. Overall, it does a good job for limited uses.
Great tripod for DSLR...but
I love the lightweight carbon fiber and the smoothness of the friction ball head. Also, the compactness of the completely retracted legs make it easy to travel with. The only inconvenience is the time it take to unscrew each section of each leg when going from one location to another.
Great travel tripod!
This tripod has worked quite well as a travel backup to my full size carbon fiber tripod. It's so light yet able to hold my SLR and large lenses with no problem. It takes some time to get used to the twist releases to extend the legs, I prefer levers, but they help keep the tripod compact. The ball head is also high quality and I am able to fine tune things for long exposures. If you are looking for nice compact tripod, this does the trick. It's worth the extra for the carbon fiber too.
Light weight and pretty stable
I've only used it a couple of times, but it seems to work well. I'm used to flip locks so it will take time to get used to the twist locks. Several times I found they weren't tight enough. It is small enough to fit in my backpack and pretty light.
Great for travel
The tripod is very compact and lightweight which is great for travel. It is not the sturdiest but holds the camera very well in place.
