Will the Vello BG-C8 work with the new Canon EOS 6D Mark II?
Asked by: Morton S.
Unfortunately, the Vello BG-C8 is only for the original Canon 6D. The Canon BG-E21 Battery Grip for EOS 6D Mark II B&H # CABGE21 is compatible with the 6D Mark II.

can you buy an adapter for this camera so that you could use your EF-S lenses?
Asked by: Donna
No, Canon EF-S lenses cannot be adapted to the Canon EOS 6D Mark II DSLR Camera. Canon EF-S lenses have a protrusion at the rear of the lens that does not allow them to be mounted on Canon Full Frame cameras.

question

Updating my 7D - Im basically a landscape person - and wanted to get into full frame - many people are telling me the 5Dmkiv is the way to go - but Im finding sticker shock - like I said Im upgrading my 7D - I have 2 really good ef lenses - 70-200 f4 and 24-105 - I have the crop canon 10-22 that I use mostly for landscape- so if I went full frame Id need to upgrade that lens - now that looking like a $4300 upgrade verse a 2800 upgrade if I get the 6Dmkii - I dont do video - so is the 6Dmkii a good option ? Im looking for a camera to last me at least 6 yrs- thanks
Asked by: John F.
Actually, if price were no object and you wish to wring every pixel in creating your landscapes, you would be considering the Canon EOS 5DS DSLR Camera (Body Only) B&H # CAE5DS. With a 50.6MP Full-Frame CMOS Sensor and with your excellent Canon L lenses, that would the better combination I think for landscapes. However, that does not answer your issue. For that, I would suggest considering either the 6D Mark II or the original 6D. Both of these have excellent full frame sensor that look just about as good as the 5D line. Basically, what the 5D has over the 6D is pro level ruggedness, weatherproofing and features that mean more for those using them for money on a daily basis. I have two 6D's and do a lot of shooting outside. I have nothing but praise for the image quality and I am fine with the build quality. They do whatever I need to do.

What is the procedure to connect the camera to the phone via Wi-Fi to use the phone as a monitor?
Asked by: Yurij
I've got my paired up to my iPhone 7 plus, but don't use it as a monitor since I use mainly live view on the camera. The advantages of pairing the camera to the phone is being able to turn the GPS on so you know exactly where each image was shot at.
