The B&H Kit combines two black Pioneer DJ PLX-500-K High-Torque, Direct-Drive Turntables with a two-channel DJ mixer, and a pair of DJ headphones to create the primary components of a professional turntablist DJ set up.
The black Pioneer PLX-500 is a high-quality, direct-drive turntable with a high-torque motor system that's designed for personal listening and live performance applications such as DJing at a party or in a club. The turntable utilizes a classic layout that DJs are familiar with, including tempo control, a start/stop button, and a lighted speed guide. The high-torque motor is capable of at least 1.6 kg/cm of torque and can reach a rotational speed of 33-1/3 rpm in one second or less. A tempo adjustment of ±8% allows you to beat-match two tracks for seamless track transitions.
The turntable is built to reproduce high-quality sound and utilizes the shortest possible audio routing, from the stylus to the outputs, to reduce distortion. A phono/line switch provides flexible connections to a DJ mixer, directly to a sound system, or to powered speakers without the need for a turntable preamp. Additionally, the Pioneer PLX-500 offers a USB port for high-quality digital recordings to your Mac or PC.
The universal type S-shape tone arm offers a gimbal-supported bearing structure and a static balance type. The Pioneer PLX-500 ships with a headshell (cartridge & stylus included), a slip mat, a dust cover, a balance weight, a shell weight, an adapter for EP records, a power cord, a USB Cable, and an audio adapter cable.
The Pioneer DJM-250MK2 2-Channel DJ Mixer offers professional level functionality in an entry level mixer and includes some of the professional features from the popular DJM-900NXS2, including the Magvel crossfader and the Sound Color FX filter. Designed for the aspiring DJ, the Pioneer DJM-250MK2 offers versatile and plentiful connectivity in a compact form factor.
Each channel on the mixer features dedicated stereo RCA line inputs as well as dedicated stereo RCA phono inputs for connecting turntables. Additionally, there is a dedicated stereo RCA Aux input for connecting an additional line input. The output section features stereo balanced XLR and stereo unbalanced RCA connectors for integration with any sound system, while monitoring is offered through a 1/4" and an 1/8" headphone outputs, which are both available simultaneously.
Each channel on the front panel offers a channel fader, 3-band isolator EQ, and Pioneer's Sound Color control which contours frequencies for real-time creative manipulation during sets. The crossfader curve is adjustable and includes a reverse function for advanced turntablism tricks. The Pioneer DJM-250MK2 ships with a power supply, USB cable, and a license for rekordbox dj & rekordbox dvs.
