The black SKB iSeries 3613-12 Waterproof Wheeled Utility Case is a water and dustproof polypropylene copolymer resin case that is resistant to UV, solvents, corrosion, fungus, and impact damage. Is it exactly 36" only at the top? I see it tapers down. I have a 37" item that's 3" deep, and wonder if it fits at the top?
Unfortunately, a 37 inch item will not fit in the SKB iSeries 3613-12 Waterproof Wheeled Utility Case (Empty). Also the top is just 2 inches deep.

How many light stands do you think this would comfortably hold? Considering using this for four smallish stands and a couple strobes, plus accessories.
That will depend on the size of the light stands you are using when folded up, along with the additional components you pack in to this case. This case has interior dimensions of 35 x 12.5 x 10.5", you will want to stage your gear to see if they will fit within the specs above.

Unfortunately, there is no lid organizer compatible or dedicated to this case. The lid on the case is 36 x 13.5 and has a 2" depth. YOu can use the BH #PELO1510 but it won't be a perfect fit.
