Acebil i-605 Reviews
What you pay is what you get, but it's great!
It's a great tripod to start up with. Steady and relatively smooth pan/tilt (fixed drag mode, you cannot adjust the drag, and it's not buttery). You can definitely get the job done. The downside is, it's hard to make minor adjustments (like for dolly/slider time lapse, etc) and the more you extent the legs it becomes unstable. It's a great product with the price you can it get for, especially if your budget is tight. But definitely not a long-term investment. If you are looking to go professional, I would suggest looking for a more high-end tripod. Not suitable for perfectionist amateurs either. My review is based off from a cinematography stand point.
Great Video Tripod on a Budget
I use this product mainly for wedding and event cinematography. The tripod is very stable and provides smooth motion for panning and tilting. The head is also very easy to level by adjusting the ball mount. My favorite feature is the zoom control handle that I have used with my Canon XA-10 Camcorder. The handle puts the most used controls on my camcorder right where I need them, and I can swap the handle out to use with my Acebil Monopod as well. The one thing that I am slightly concerned about is the cable that is used to connect the zoom control handle to the camera. It is a pull-out design that locks as you pull it out so that it doesn't retract back into the handle. The cable seems rather flimsy and I'm not sure how long that will last, but for the price the entire package is an excellent purchase for anyone looking for a low-cost video tripod.
