Speaker sounds like a giant monitor speaker. Great bass response and clean clear highs. Light weight. Great build quality.

I bought it expecting so much out of it because of the good reviews. All I can say is that you get what you pay for. For the price range it is great but it is not going to be like those speakers that are more expensive or 2x the amount of the price. The base is great. The sound is great but it is not as clear and quality like an expensive speaker would be. If you have the extra money to spend I would suggest to get a better quality speaker. But if your price range is limited, this is a great speaker to start with.

YASS!

I have been a MACKIE FAN for many years. These speakers take the cake. Not only are they light and easy to move or mount but the sound quality is simply amazing! The ease-of-use Bluetooth app connection for manipulating the sound and pairing the speakers is also a great feature. No more running cables all over the place and we're not sacrificing sound.

A great speaker for the money. Did a warehouse music gig, worked great. Four stars, not five, as I feel my JBL EON 610 has a little better clarity (but is twice the price). I would definitely buy another of these.

Sounds great , app not so good

This Speaker really delivers! Sound is Great, set up easy pairing. The issue is what I've in a few reviews. The App doesn't open when you need it. You have to un-install it and re-install it again for it to work.

How many Mackie Thump 12A and subwoofers are recommended for a 500 to 600 people basketball court/school gym and a soccer field?
Asked by: Joseph
It really depends on what the system is going to be used for (DJ, live music, speaking/announcements). As a basic system, you could use a pair of the Thump 12As and one subwoofer such as the 18S.

Asked by: Joseph
Depending on what type of application you will be using the system for (DJ, live band, speaking/announcements), you should be good with a pair of the Thump 12A powered loudspeakers on stands along with one 18S subwoofer for a typical basketball court with around 500 to 600 people.

Yes, you can set up your speakers in this manner. The manual for Mackie's Thump 12A/15A shows several diagrams for connections and setups. Here is a link: https://mackie.com/sites/default/files/PRODUCT%20RESOURCES/MANUALS/Owners_Manuals/Thump12_Thump15_OM.pdf

While a variety of factors would determine the actual number of speakers needed, we would recommend at least starting with 4 powered speakers and 2 powered subwoofers such as B&H # MATHUMP18S.

question

I teach Zumba in a large gym. Can I use my iPad to play music on this & also hook up a wireless mic? Is this one speaker loud enough for a large room?
Asked by: Kim L.
The Mackie Thump is a great sixe for a Zumba class, however only offers a single input. You would only be able to connect a single source at a time. The JBL EON 612 is a comparable unit and will offer 2 inputs with individual level control for a mic and music source.
