Dell 5675-A933Blu overview

  • 1Description

Built for gaming and VR-ready, the Inspiron 5675 Gaming Desktop Computer from Dell is powered by a 3.2 GHz AMD Ryzen 5 1400 Quad-Core processor that will allow you to run multiple applications simultaneously. If you need more power, the CPU can achieve speeds up to 3.4 GHz and the 8GB of 2400 MHz DDR4 RAM also helps the computer to run multiple applications simultaneously, as well as access frequently-used files and programs. Each of the two 288-pin DIMM slots supports up to 16GB of RAM, or 32GB total.

For long-term storage of your files, a 1TB 7200 rpm SATA hard drive offers ample space to store your data. If you need to expand the amount of internal storage, there is an extra 3.5" bay, plus a 2.5" bay, and if you want to connect with external storage drives or other peripherals, such as printers, memory card readers, optical drives, and more, the Inspiron 5675 features one USB 3.0 Type-C port, six USB 3.0 Type-A ports, four USB 2.0 Type-A ports, and two PS/2 ports. The dedicated AMD Radeon 570 graphics card has 4GB of GDDR5 video memory and delivers a sharp, clear picture, while allowing for a wide range of monitors to be used via its HDMI output. Four PCIe expansion slots allow you to add compatible peripherals. Other features include a SuperMulti DVD Burner, an SD/SDHC/SDXC media card reader, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, and the Realtek ALC3861 audio controller, which outputs higher fidelity than standard controllers.

Dell's Inspiron 5675 Gaming Desktop Computer operates using a 460W power supply that runs using 100-240 VAC at 50-60 Hz and includes a Dell KB216 keyboard, a Dell MS116 USB mouse, and a power cord. The installed operating system is Windows 10 Home (64-bit).

Windows 10

Start Menu
After its hiatus in Windows 8, the Start Menu has returned. Utilizing a combination of the traditional menu system and Windows 8's Live Tiles, the improved Start Menu gives you more information at a glance, showing notification information alongside your applications and other pinned items.
Microsoft's digital personal assistant, Cortana can answer your questions with information gleaned from both your device and the internet at large. You can type or even talk with her, if your system has a microphone. Using her Notebook, Cortana keeps track of your needs and wants, and she learns over time to improve her information gathering skills.
Microsoft Edge
After nearly 20 years, Microsoft has finally replaced its Internet Explorer web browser. With Microsoft Edge, users can write directly on web pages and share notes with friends and colleagues. It also improves the online reading experience by adding a distraction-free mode and read-it-later functionality. Edge also has built-in Cortana integration; you can have her help you find a restaurant, make a reservation, and pull up directions without leaving your browser.
Windows Store
For Windows 10, Microsoft has unified the Windows Store. Now, apps for PCs, tablets, and phones will all be accessible from one place. And with support for Universal Apps, one version of an app can work across all your compatible devices automatically.
Windows Continuum
Windows 10 was designed for a variety of screen sizes and input styles, and with its Continuum feature, it automatically adapts to fit your needs. A Windows 10 tablet on its own requires a touch-centric approach, but attaching a mouse and keyboard will shift everything to a more traditional interface. You can even attach an external monitor to your Windows 10 phone for a near-desktop experience. But it's not just the operating system; Windows Universal Apps take advantage of Continuum as well.
Xbox on Windows 10
Gaming is a big focus of Windows 10. Xbox integration allows for PC players to match up against Xbox One players on supported games, and if you have an Xbox One, you can even stream compatible titles to your PC. Native support for recording with the new Game DVR feature makes it easy to capture and share your gameplay. The new DirectX12 takes better advantage of multi-core processors, giving games a performance boost, even on older hardware. Windows 10 also features native support for virtual reality headsets, such as the Oculus Rift.

    Dell 5675-A933Blu reviews

Inspiron 5675 Gaming Desktop Computer is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Did not expect the quality of this machine. Big surprise in the quality after using a competitors brand for many years. I changed because this unit offered exactly what I wanted and needed after a catastrophic crash of my old unit. I was saved by my backup when I was unable to migrate old to new. The one negative thing is the quality of the optical drive which is flimsy and one must exercise caution in loading it else damage may occur. That aside, I could not be happier.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good pre-built, some annoying things As ridiculous as this may seem, this loses nearly all of its poitns because of the fans. Not exactly the fans themselves but it's treatment of what a fan should do. The BIOS is locked down and provides no controls over the fan speed. Similarly, other software utilities that normally could regulate the fan speed cannot slow these fans down. Both the CPU fan and the rear fan go 100% all the time which produces a TON of noise. To make matters worse, if you swap out the fans for quieter ones (like Noctua), the BIOS freaks out and insists on doing a full hardware scan AT EVERY BOOT. This does not seem to be an isolated case as there are many others who have indicted similarly if they didn't go with the liquid cooling option. Otherwise the machine works well and with the prices of GPUs these days being as crazy as it is. There may be a work around that involves getting a Noctua fan controller, but I"m not sure if it'll trick the BIOS or not. I'm not super desperate because I had long cables anyway (e.g. a 30' HDMI) so I put the dumb thing in a different room so with the door closed it's a lot quieter (though I can still hear it. Yes it is that loud). I hope to be able to put it in the same room as me without thinking I'm at an airport soon.
