Manfrotto Ezybox Pro Octa Softbox (Large, 40")

Excellent Octa modifier

This modifier offers a superb, soft light with good spill control. The optional grid is relatively inexpensive and I recommend it as well. I would have given this 5 stars, except for one aspect: The modifier comes shipped very folded up, somewhat similar to how a collapsible reflector would be folded. I would not encourage a user to fold it this way. A prior example from the old production series that I used stressed the fabric with the metal frame to the point of near failure of the fabric when it was so aggressively folded. I would strongly recommend that a user simply fold the petals on top of each other flat. It's less compact, but still very compact and it won't stress the frame at all. An additional plus for speedlite shooters is that the unit will accomodate two speedlites. Lastolite also makes an optional metal frame speedlite holder which can be fitted to the Octa and will accomodate up to 4 speedlites, so fast recycle time/high output is very feasible with this unit. I highly recommend this modifier.
