Distinguished by its impressive maximum aperture, the XP 85mm f/1.2 from Samyang is a portrait-length prime for Canon EF-mount DSLRs. Its optical design features one aspherical element and a pair of high refractive index elements, which are used to reduce spherical aberrations and distortions in order to realize a high degree of clarity and sharpness. An Ultra Multi-Coating has also been applied to suppress ghosting and flare for improved contrast and color fidelity in a variety of lighting conditions. The fast f/1.2 maximum aperture benefits working in low-light conditions as well as offers increased control over depth of field for selective focus effects. Additionally, the manual focus design contributes to the precise control over focus, and an aluminum-alloy housing benefits handling as well as improves overall durability.

Samyang XP 85mm f/1.2 Reviews
Fantastic lens, but not compatible with Canon R cameras
I have several XP lenses from Samyang, and apart from the 14 F/2.4 which could not focus to infinity and which I had to dismount in order to adjust (quality control with Samyang is sometimes lousy), I use them for astrophotography at full aperture and they are very good. Very bad surprise after I bought a Canon R6 markii with the Canon EF adapter. It works with other Samyang lenses (provided one put the Release shutter w/o lens on in the menu), but the camera crashes as soon as you shoot an image with and XP lens. Crashes means really crashing, the red LED saying that the image is being saved is always on, the screen gets black, not other button is effective, and one has to remove the battery of the camera to take control. Very upset with Canon, very likely switching to Sony. Didn't find any information about this before buying the camera :(
Love the lens and excellent image quality
So 1st one i got from Amazon and it was used so i had to return it but then i bought one from B&H and i'm very happy with it. It works really well with Canon R5. Super sharp wide open and built really well. (Lens hood design could be better) My only issue is that i purchased expensive Sigma 86mm water repellent filter for it and it makes picture look weird.
