This Vidpro Professional Skater Dolly Kit with Magic Arm and Extendable Handle is a useful accessory for DSLR, mirrorless, and camcorder shooters who want to create smooth straight or curved camera moves. This compact and lightweight skater dolly supports cameras and rigs weighing up to 25 lb, and it is an excellent tool when creating tabletop moves with your camera. The small size allows you to get low-angle moving shots on floors, smooth surfaces, and places a traditional dolly can't go.
The rubber wheels feature stainless steel ball bearings. Independent articulating axles allow you to adjust the dolly moves to be straight, curved, or even 360° circular. Index markings on the skater platform allow you to fine-tune and replicate moves for faster setups the more you use the dolly. The platform features seven 1/4"-20 threaded mounting holes and a 1/4"-20 threaded stud. This allows you to attach a variety of accessories, and the included 3/8"-16 to 1/4"-20 adapter bushing lets you mount a variety of flat base heads. An included articulating magic arm mounts on the dolly and allows you to position accessories, while the included extendable handle makes it easier to push the dolly, especially when doing low-angle floor shots.

Fun, Pretty Good, Could Be Better
Overall, this dolly is a nicely made accessory to have on hand. I rate it highly for its construction, mostly! The knobs and other hardware are mostly all top notch, with the following exceptions. The following improvements are needed: 1). The most annoying thing is the wheel bearings! If you are planning to use the audio taken by the camera on the dolly, you will hear the dry-sounding bearings rattling in the sound track. Three of the wheels make the noise, one wheel is fine. The problem either comes from the low quality of the bearings, perhaps they have no grease in them, or they simply need to be tightened against the steering arms better. One of the bearings on my unit is acceptable, the other three clatter. There's too much play between the inner and outer races of the bearings allowing the wheels to wobble slightly, as well. 2). The arm assembly is nicely made. The adapters at each end are good, the knob adjustment locks into place very well, but the two ball joints can't be locked and therefore just swivel at will with no firm way of making sure they stay put. Everything on the arm is nicely made except for a missing locking feature on the ball joints - I suspect over time, they will become loose enough to just flop around and the arm will become useless, unless you can salvage its bits and pieces for use in your parts box. Fix the ball joints! 3). The handle is different than the one shown in the photos. The handle is not the sturdiest of construction but is sufficient for most things. It's not a tire iron, it's just a push handle, use it with respect and care and it will work fine. 4). Not a big deal but, as expected, the physical holes are not at the center of the graduated degree markings on each end. We can deal with it. Overall, I like the unit, am impressed with much of its construction, but there are things (above) that make me wonder why they stopped short in the design or just overlooked. Some of these things are more important than others. Overall, I rate it a 4-star product.
Poor Construction
The expandable handle shown is not the handle within the box. The handle broke within 12 hours of receiving the product.
