    FiiO X1 reviews

X1 (Gen 2) Portable High-Resolution Lossless Music Player (Red) is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality sound, clunky interface I bought this for my daughter to replace her ancient hand-me-down iPod Nano, and the sound quality is very good. The interface leaves a lot to be desired, mainly due to the extremely sensitive scroll wheel and chunky font. Be sure you buy a micro SD card because the unit has zero built-in memory. That could have been clearer in the description. Overall, I am satisfied with the purchase, especially considering Apple discontinued the iPod Nano a week before I planned to buy one and all retailers immediately raised the price by $50, making the X1 a no-brainer purchase for only $100. When my Pono player battery completely dies, I will consider buying an X1 for myself.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good machine for the price. One big flaw Good MP3 player. No issues with quality or general functionality. One drawback. the Bluetooth won't sync with the car because there is no way to verify the sync code the car system sets. The Fiio sync code must be 0000 or 8888. My Ford Sync code generates a new code every time. So I can't use the Fiio for what I wanted it for most... playing my library in the car. Works well with other Bluetooth players that don't require a code.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fiio X1 (Gen 2) is the player i was looking for! after using it 2 weeks i can say it loud in clear, this is the player i was looking for! nice sleek cool and easy to use design both inside and outside. great sound quality, decent battery life, good bluetooth connection, i just love it! had an issue that screen used to go black when i constantly switched songs with long paths to it only way out was to reboot, solved after first time updating library, overall its a great product, would recommend for every one!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fiio X1 Gen2 vs original Having both the first generation and second generation units, I have split feelings about the players. The original sounded really good, but the interface was SLOOOOOW! It could take an entire song to navigate to a specific song by another artist or even to change genres. It's fine if you're just doing random play all day. Gen 2 has a much faster OS and is comparable to several other players I own (my Zune is still the speed champ) I really appreciate the addition of Bluetooth. It pairs easily. The sonic quality of the unit is very good and makes even 120k MP3s sound pretty respectable. Good high end. I'm not as enamored with the form factor of the new unit. It's long and skinny with a fairly slippery feel. It'll probably hit the ground pretty soon. The old one had a rubber slip cover that kept it from sliding off the dash or out of your hand. The display doesn't seem quite as vivid as the original and the choice of font sizes is more limited. The unit also still has trouble displaying the correct cover art. So did the old one. An FM tuner might be nice, but what do you want for a hundred bucks. Bottom line, great sound, great price, a few flaws.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Second FiiO X1 Purchase About three-years ago, my iPod classic bit the dust. I bought an X1 (Gen 1) to replace it and loved it. The only real problem I had was that dust got inside the wheel mechanism and eventually started to give me problems. I just replaced that one with a Gen 2 and it has a touch wheel like the old iPod classic, so I'm thrilled. I may eventually use the Bluetooth feature, but it wasn't a selling point for me. I don't have wireless headphones because I can't seem to bring myself to spend a car payment for something I'm inclined to lose or break. My only problem that I have is with me and not with the player. The Gen 2 can handle a 256 GB card and I really, really want a 256 GB card, but they're more expensive than the player. I guess I'll have to settle for the 128 GB card that I already have until I can save up... Anyway, the FiiO X1's are awesome little players with fantastic sound quality and they're not bogged down with all the iPod bells and whistles, not the least of which is the need to deal with iTunes (get thee behind me, Satan!) Love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would recommend only if your budget is $100 I use the the player its easy and simple to use. The touch wheel can be a little sensitive but there are other navigation controls. Startup time after shutdown is like 15 seconds. Audio quality is better than you'd expect for 100 dollars. There are some flaws with it but they are so minor that you would only get mad if you wanted it to be perfect. The blue-tooth connection works pretty flawlessly i dont think it works on 2.0 you have to do research for that.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worth All I Paid I had the FIIO M1 player which is much more compact and can take a 64GB full of music but had a problem that can only go with a ear/head phone was annoyed to pick up phone calls, bought this model because of Bluetooth and it works good just sometimes it shakes when I'm using my phone together with the Music Player. I'm buying this particular company because they are making a JUST MUSIC player with no video radio etc, which makes it not tempting for my kids (or any other Person ) to play around and misuse it, loading on it is a BREEZE either you put in the card reader or you plug in the USB cable and in NO TIME you can copy the files you want to listen to, just when you load the card it takes time to read first all the files (which takes about 1-3 minutes for my 10,000 song) the reason I doesn't want to give it a full 5 star is because, when i connect my phone AND the music (sometimes even i disconnect the phone) player together, any interference will make the music play hooked (sometimes it can be the wind blowing through the Bluetooth)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Versatile, but . . . still learning how to use. After my iPod died, I shopped around for a cheap and cheerful little music player. This certainly looks like it does the trick, but after having it for a couple weeks, I'm still trying to figure out how to maximize its efficiency. Searching for the album I want to play is an undertaking. Probably user error, but it's not super intuitive, hence the 4 stars and not 5.
