Use the Meade Instrument #390 EclipseView White-Light Solar Filter to adapt your nighttime refractor telescope to safely view the sun, and on camera lenses without front filter threads or when conventional screw-on filters are unavailable. Views through this filters reveal the sun in broad-band white light and is ideal for general solar observation, or enjoying all phases of solar eclipses. Each filter meets the ISO 123112-2:2015 safety standard for direct solar viewing as well as being CE-Certified to 12-16 of EN 169/1992.
Outfitted with three thumbscrews for a secure and centered fit, this filter is designed to fit over the entire objective bell so for the correct fit simply measure the outside diameter of the bell - including hardware like retaining rings and screw heads - and choose the size that matches the measurement with some extra room. The filter has a clear aperture of 56mm, so vignetting may occur when used on lenses and optics that approach the maximum recommended diameter in the 85-100mm (3.346-3.937")size range.
