Benro iFoto Series 2 overview

  • 1Description

The FIF28CIB2 Carbon Fiber Transfunctional iFoto Series 2 Tripod Kit from Benro is a 4-section tripod with reverse-folding carbon fiber legs, which fold down to 24.6". Compact and comfortable to carry for short hikes and even long-distance traveling, this 3.9 lb tripod has a load capacity of 31 lb, which is more than suitable to support large format cameras.

The tripod can reach a maximum height of 65" for those hard-to-reach shots, and the legs have three varying angles of 23, 55, and 80°, which enables the tripod to go a minimum height of 18.3". A favorable feature of the tripod is the detachable leg, which becomes a monopod and can be taken to areas where tripods are not permitted or simply do not fit. An IB2 ball head, with a load capacity of 22 lb, has been included as part of the kit.

    Benro iFoto Series 2 reviews

FIF28CIB2 Carbon Fiber Transfunctional iFoto Series 2 Tripod Kit is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Tripod I wasn't sure how much i was going to like the twist lock system but it works great. I used Manfrotto for years and was looking for a lightweight option. This especially without the head is super light. As light as it is, it feels very solid. I used it with 5d4 and 16-35/70-200 lenses. It didn't have any issues even on uneven surfaces.Absolutely love one of the legs becomes a monopod. Only problem i ran into was with the quick release plate. When you want to shoot vertical photos it doesn't stay still and gets loose. I couldn't get it tight enough to solve the problem. That's the only reason for 4 star.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Upgrade to Carbon I was looking to my old Manfrotto tripod as the clips were getting worn, and I wanted a more stable tripod capable of handling my heavier lenses. I was going to get the larger 38 after the review it got on Fstoppers, however this one came with $80 off and the IB2 ballhead included. I'm very happy with my choice, the carbon fibre makes it nice and light, it folds up smaller than my old Manfrotto making it idea for landscape photography and it's study enough for long exposures. Very happy with my choice and thx to the staff at B&H for their advice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Tripod! Though I’ve only used it once, I can say that I definitely love this tripod. I can’t say I know a lot about expensive tripods like Mefoto or Induro because my last tripod was $40, but I think that this is one solid tripod. Everything works well and does what it says it can do. It’s relatively light weight for its size and straps into my Lowepro Flipside Trek 350 backpack with no problems. The only issues I’ve noticed so far (which really aren’t even issues) are the stickers and the tripod legs. The stickers that show which direction to lock and unlock the legs are already starting to peel off even though I’ve only used the tripod once. Like I said though, it’s not really an issue, I’ll just peel them off eventually. The tripod legs scared me for a second. My friend wanted to see how tall the tripod could get so he started twisting one of the legs to lengthen it and he twisted it to the point where half of he leg fell off. A couple white pieces of plastic fell off the leg and for a second it looked like he broke one of the legs. After a couple minutes of fiddling around with it, I was able to snap the white pieces back on the leg and screw the bottom half (with difficultly) back on to the remainder of the leg. Needless to say, don’t let your inexperienced friends play around with it. The leg won’t come off unless you unscrew it far beyond what it was meant for. Other than that I think I’ll be using this tripod for years. Excellent build quality and no major issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First impressions are very good I treated myself to this as an upgrade to an older Dolica travel tripod. This tripod isn't as compact as the Dolica, but the build quality makes up for that! Legs: Twist lock - doesn't require full rotation, so these are quick to use. Grab them all at once to deploy then lock individually. Much easier than my Dolica. Swappable feet - good. Long enough to go over my eye level @ 6'. Monopod leg is a nice feature too, might be able to sell off my old one. Head: So sturdy! Finally a tripod head that doesn't creep down. Loaded my XT-2 with 50-140mm mounted to a 2x teleconverter and tilted it downwards. Didn't even have to over-tighten the knob for it to not creep. Excellent. Pan motion is smooth. Ballhead is super smooth. Mount is ARCA compatible, works with my grip and has a safety that doesn't let you fully release unless you pull the knob. Nice! Comes with bag and tools.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from very poor center column lock I got this at a huge discount from B&H but still sent it back. The legs worked great and seemed very solid but the center column lock took way too much force to lock down tight. To get it tight enough you worry about stripping the threads. And the ball head left a lot to be desired in terms of the machining. It wasn't really smooth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Happy with my purchase. This tripod is light weight & sturdy. I use it with my full frame DSLR. The largest lens I put on it is an 80-200mm 2.8. It can support up to 31lbs. Super easy to use & set up. The Ball Head is not my favorite but that’s only because I’m partial to the pan heads instead. Regardless, I’m very happy with my purchase.
