Key Features
  • 42/95/142/204 Lumens White LED
  • High, Med, Low, Downcast & Flash Modes

Lightweight, weatherproof, versatile, and powered by widely available batteries, the Pelican 2760 Gen 3 LED Headlamp will meet a wide range of professional, recreational and around-the-house needs. Its white-light LED shines at high (204 lumens), medium (142 lumens) and low (95 lumens) settings, along with a 42-lumen downcast setting (handy for holding a conversation with someone without shining the light in their eyes.) There is also a flashing mode for extra visibility or emergency signaling, and a red-light mode for preserving night-acclimated vision. Runtimes range from 11 hours on downcast to two hours on high, and the lamp is equipped with a full-time battery level indicator. The polycarbonate housing is IPX4-rated splash-proof and impact resistant in drops of up to 3.3 feet.

question

Can the red be turned on without cycling through the different modes?
Asked by: Dennis
With due respect to Kirk (staff who answered it), his answer is not accurate or true. The unit remembers what light color mode it was in the last time it was on, and that is the mode it will go into when you turn it on next time. So if it was in white mode last time, it will turn on in white mode the next time you turn it on, and likewise with red mode. (That is good, since if I had it on red mode, then turned it off, then turned it back on again, it will go straight into red mode again. Too bad it only has one brightness level in red.) Because it does not remember the white mode brightness setting (high, medium, low or downcast), and always turns on next time in HIGH white (if you had it in any white mode last time), it is irrelevant whether the white mode was in low last time (despite what Kirk said) and, in fact, if it was in low white mode last time, it will go to HIGH white mode next time. In other words, the brightness level of white used last time has absolutely no bearing on the access to the red light and if it was white last time, it will NOT go to red the next time until you have switched its mode once on in white. Annoying.

Will this work acceptably well with NiMH or other rechargeable AAA batteries?
Asked by: Stephen
The Pelican 2760 Gen 3 LED Headlamp (Translucent Red) can accept any type of AAA form factor battery. Lithium-ion batteries will be the most efficient for powering the Pelican 2760 Gen 3 LED Headlamp (Translucent Red), but NiMH AAA will also fit.

How do you open the battery compartment?? Not in the instructions or YouTube videos for other Pelican headlights. Do not want to break it. The obvious clip doesn’t budge. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Asked by: Gayle
Thanks for the helpful solution provided by the previous responder. I too was afraid of breaking the unit and actually contemplated returning the unit. Startup Instructions are not included. Would not consider gifting to avoid frustrating recipients!
