Think Tank Photo Spectral 10 reviews

Spectral 10 Camera Shoulder Bag (Black) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits my Nikon D800/D4 with 24-70, 70-200, SB910 Flash I bought this bag to replace an older Tenba bag (no longer made), which I liked, but was a bit bulky. The Spectral 10 is lighter, and less cumbersome. The flap locking mechanism is good--takes a little bit of getting used to. It has two settings for accommodating more or less gear. And best of all, it's easy to open with one hand. The strap, while not heavy-duty, is a good match for the bag. To save space inside, the dividers are on the thin side, which is popular these days, and leaves room for more gear. So if you're a klutz, you may want a heftier bag. I considered the Spectral 13, which I may buy as an alternate for when I need to carry more gear. I plan on shooting corporate events with this bag, and believe the weight, size, style and features will be a good match. Even though an iPad fits in the bag, I probably won't carry one as the primary goal of this purchase was to reduce weight. I own other Think Tank products, and this bag fits in nicely with my collection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Typically Amazing Quality from Think Tank It's the little things that make a difference, and this bag has so many smart touches! Sure... the quality is world-class (from the materials to the stitching), but everything is incredibly well thought out. The compartments are endlessly adjustable, the pockets make maximum use of the space, and the padding ensures that your equipment (no matter what it is) will be in excellent condition. FYI: I also own one of their roller bags for airline travel. It's insanely solid and my best purchase in 2013.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A mixed bag I own a lot of ThinkTank bags and the worst ThinkTank bag is still better than the best from most other brands.  That said, this Spectral bag was a dissapointment.   On TTs website, they show how the bag works, on a table.  Thats fine, but on your shoulder its different.  Compared to a bag like the Retrospect or my beloved & discontinued City Walker, the front flap on the Specrtral is big and stiff.  It seems to get in the way.   The magnetic closure is a mixed bag.  The idea is fabulous, but theres no real magnetic attraction between the two pieces.  Mechanically, the release is awesome--just pull on the tab.  But getting the closure to close is usually a two handed job.  On the plus side, its silent. The shoulder strap, one of the best TT features, is a cheapened verison.  Instead of the pad with multiple non-slip strips, this pad has a single piece of non-slip material for about 2 inches in the middle of the pad.  In addition to not being as comfortable as the pad on the Retrospect, if the Spectrals pad is not centered on your shoulder, everything just slips off. The Spectral has one really great thing, a zippered lid that covers the contents.  They talk about this as a theft preventative but its probably more useful for keeping dust and water out.  When this cover/lid is un-zipped, they keep it out of the way using a single piece of Velcro which anchors it to the underside of the main flap.  This works fairly well, but to keep it completely out of the way, theres a pocket for stashing the lid flap in the underside of the main flap. This doesnt work at all, and they dont even use it for the demo.   Padding is great, dividers are great.  All kinds of pockets.  A little more stylish than I would prefer but not obviously a camera bag.  So, not for me but bags are such a personal thing; it might be perfect for you.
