Litepanels 2x1 overview

  • 1Description

Flexibility and control are key to the creation of the Gemini 2x1 Bi-Color LED Soft Panel with Standard Yoke and US Power Cable from Litepanels. The aluminum-constructed, 25.0 x 6.5 x 12.5" fixture has 3 lighting modes. The CCT color temperature control has 6 factory presets in increments from 2700 to 6000K. There are also 6 presets for user-defined color temperature and plus/minus green control. The HSI Color mode allows you to adjust the hue, saturation, and intensity, while Gel mode permits your choice from a library of filters often used by image makers. A firmware update adds a Lighting Effects Mode that includes TV simulation, hue burst, paparazzi, strobe, fire, squares, fireworks, emergency lights, pulse and party lights. The light has a CRI/TLCI rating of 97 for daylight balance and 99 for tungsten balance, indicating a very accurate rendition of color. The Gemini is dimmable from 100 to 0% without flicker or color shift. Settings and features are displayed on the rear LCD screen.

All of these adjustments can be made locally on the unit or remotely via a console, thanks to the Gemini's built in DMX. There's even the option of wireless DMX or Bluetooth control via a separately purchased remote module. The Gemini is ready for worldwide use, thanks to its built in 100 to 240 VAC power supply but it can also run on batteries when power is unavailable.

The Gemini has a number of convenience features, such as the ability to stack and gang several lights together with an optional yoke and hardware. You can also daisy-chain multiple lights together in Master/Slave mode, allowing a single designated "Master" light to control the others. This version of the Gemini ships with a standard yoke and a US power cable.

3 Lighting Modes
  • CCT (Correlated Color Temperature) mode allows for bi-color (daylight to tungsten) operation with the addition of plus and minus green adjustment
  • HSI Color mode allows for full color control over hue, saturation, and intensity
  • Gel mode allows for a variety of gels to be selected from the menu
  • Firmware Update for Special Effects
A firmware update adds a Lighting Effects Mode that includes TV simulation, hue burst, paparazzi, strobe, fire, squares, fireworks, emergency lights, pulse and party lights.

    Litepanels 2x1 reviews

Gemini 2x1 Bi-Color LED Soft Panel (Standard Yoke) is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile I love this light. Bright, accurate, versatile. You don't notice any fan noise. Looking forward to using this on more jobs as this is my first step into LED lighting, finally. Been using an ARRI 750 kit for years and their great but this light is a whole other level.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Skypanel competition Almost the same amount of light as a S60, and all the same features at half the weight. Well built.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow So far I've had this light for about 2 weeks now and have used it on about 5 productions. It has been a joy to work with. The ergonomics, options, output and light quality have all been so great - especially for interviews. I have a lot of lights (Dracast 1k, 500s) and Fresnels (practilites - great for shaping light and spotting things like hair for separation or using to fill in parts of the background) - what's so great about this light is having something on set that has enough power to key multiple folks in an interview). The downside is the size (it's an upside for having a large spread of light) but if you do not have a large vehicle it is going to take up some space. We have a production van so are straight. The other thought is you'll want to have some other tools - like flags and scrims to have some light control. I'd definitely recommend pairing this with the soft case (porta brace) to keep safe as well as the Avenger Roller stand. I may look into the soft box - but have been using it to bounce or diffusing and have been very happy. Anyhow it's been great not pushing my biggest light to it's max and wondering if I had a little more could I have more options on what I was trying to do with the image - now I can just roll the dial and see...!
