Audinst HUD-MX2 Overview

The Audinst HUD-mx2 is a compact high-resolution USB DAC designed to provide increased volume and sound quality for music lovers and audiophiles in listening rooms, home studios, and home theaters. It utilizes a Texas Instruments D/A converter, supports resolutions up to 24-bit / 192 kHz, and works with a variety of headphone impedances from 16 to 300 Ohms.

Use the supplied USB cable to connect your computer to the HUD-mx2, which can be powered via USB or the supplied DC adapter. A front-panel LED indicates power status. You can accept audio from the USB connection or the digital TOSLINK optical input. Plug headphones into the 3.5mm and 1/4" headphone jacks and hook up speakers via the supplied 5’ RCA cable. A toggle switch allows you to switch signal between the headphone and line outputs. You can also route audio through the digital TOSLINK optical output to a stereo receiver. The front-panel volume knob controls the headphone monitoring level.
