Like all Voigtlander lens hoods, both screw-in and bayonet, looks and works great, but costs a lot more than it should. Up to you to choose whether it’s worth a little more (since most of the V lenses come without the hood) to get a really nice one to go with your also pricey lens. This one is for the 40mm f/2, but it works equally well on the 58mm f/1.4 and the 90mm f/2.8. Some of these come with a nice push on metal cap, some don’t. Check your item description! I use a 67mm push-on Kaiser rubber cap on mine and save the V cap in case I sell the lens and hood.
Pricey, but the best hood for the 40mm lens!

No, the Voigtlander LH-40 IIS Lens Hood is not compatible with the Voigtlander 90mm F/2.8 Apo-Skopar lens, which is not the same size as the Ultron 40mm f/2 SL IIS Aspherical lens.

The filter goes on the lens first and then the hood on top. The lens take a 52mm filter.

Does this come with a cover for the hood?
The hood is supplied with a slip on cover. I find this very convenient. The only time you need to remove the hood is to change/add a filter.
