The Short Spike and Rubber Feet Set from Gitzo consists of two different diameters of 30 and 38mm both of which can slip over the stainless-steel spike, to prevent the tripod from sliding on smooth surfaces. The high-resistant rubber foot slips off and exposes the stainless-steel spike, so it can be placed into sand, grass, or mud to stabilize the tripod further. Additionally, the set of feet and spike can be used as spares or replacements of the originals.

The short spike and rubber foot set is an excellent product and exactly what I needed. Thanks. I wish only that I could have bought a single spike, for my Gitzo carbon fiber monopod. Oh, well. Now I've got spares!
Rubber feels highly durable. There is no way the rubber foot will slip off the spike (unless maybe it is removed and reinstalled many, many times). I'm using this on my monopod for occasional icy situations.
