This Matthews Menace Arm Kit enables you to boom a lighting fixture attached to a 1 1/4" Schedule 40 aluminum pipe speed rail, sold separately, while keeping the light stand out of camera view. The kit includes an ear with a 9.5" anti-sag center post, dual baby pin front mount, and a rear counterweight receiver with a D-ring on top and bottom for connecting a ratchet strap to the bottom of the stand instead of a counterweight bar.

Can I use 2 6 foot speedrail with a connector piece to make this ~12feet long? Or do we need one long continuous piece of speed rail?

Yes you can use two 6 foot rails, but with the connector piece.

I wish to make an over 22 feet long menace arm, can the kit handle that? obviously after using connectors to connect the pipes.

no I would definitely not make a menace arm with a reach longer than 16' with a single 1 1/4" menace arm. if you use a double kit (aka "over under"), and a heavy cranking stand, you could probably get 22' of reach.
