Garmin vivoactive 3 overview

  • 1Description

The Garmin vivoactive 3 is an activity tracker and smartwatch combined into an all-around sleek-looking device. Its stylish design includes a sunlight-readable color touchscreen and a built-in Elevate heart rate monitor. In terms of functionality, the vivoactive 3 features built-in sports apps that provide GPS- and GLONASS-enabled running, biking, and golf data tracking—to name just a few. Advanced activity metrics, such as VO2 max estimates, heart rate variability (HRV) data, and fitness age, are also available.

In addition to sport-specific metrics, the vivoactive 3 also serves as an all-day activity tracker, so you can see how many steps you've taken, floors you've climbed, calories you've burned, and more. To top it off, the vivoactive 3 also monitors your sleep, so you can track quality and gain insights into sleep patterns and behavior.

The vivoactive 3 is also well-equipped for wireless communications and features. In addition to GPS and GLONASS support, the vo?voactive 3 is equipped with Bluetooth and ANT+ technology, which allows it to pair with your smartphone for text and media alerts, calendar reminders, and more. You can even use vivoactive 3 to pay for purchases using Garmin Pay, a built-in purchasing app new to the vivo wearable series.

You can personalize your vivoactive 3 with free watch face designs, widgets, and apps from Garmin's Connect IQ store. Choose the customizations that best represent you and your lifestyle to make vivoactive 3 truly your own.

When you head outside, built-in GPS lets the vivoactive 3 track the details of your chosen activity with no phone connection required.
Download and Create Workouts
Keep your workout schedule fresh and invigorating. Create your own custom running, cycling, cardio, or strength workouts, and download them to your watch. Then, your vivoactive smartwatch will keep track of the exercises, reps, sets, and rest time.
Daily Fitness and Stress Tracking
With help from Elevate wrist-based heart rate technology, the vivoactive 3 lets you monitor key aspects of your fitness and stress to show how your body responds under various circumstances. For example, it's able to estimate your VO2 max and fitness age. It also tracks your heart rate variability (HRV), which is used to calculate and track your stress level. The vivoactive 3 can make you aware when physical or emotional sources cause your stress level to rise so you can find a way to relieve the pressure.
Always Connected
Life doesn't have a pause button, so stay connected with your vivoactive 3 smartwatch while you're playing hard or working out. Once paired with your compatible smartphone, you'll be able to receive and even respond to text messages and see social media updates, emails, and more on your wrist.

    Garmin vivoactive 3 reviews

vivoactive 3 (Black with Stainless Hardware) is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful watch and good golf app First of all I bought it because of golf functionality and wanted to have watch for daily use. Golf functionality is great, very easy to add scores, GPS is fast and phone app is very good as well for longer statistics. Watch looks good and I am using it every day. Battery lasts without GPS about 4 or 5 days. If playing golf then I could play 2 rounds on the row. Also it has heart rate tracking and that was something I was looking for. Minus side is screen. Contrast is not the best and if you compare it to Apple watch 3, its quite bad :) Conclusion, if you are looking smart watch, you should look Apple watch 3. But if you want to have good sport watch with fast and good GPS - Garmin is the best.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great incentive to get moving Bought this as a reminder to stay more active. I considered Apple watches and other devices, but chose this because I wanted an activity tracker first, with bluetooth gimmicks second. Getting notifications on my wrist is enough for my needs. After a couple of weeks' wear, I'm very happy. The heart monitor is rock solid, and the stress monitor (a key decision-feature) is surprisingly good. The optional (free) watch faces are way better than the rather mundane out-of-the-box face. Watch feels lighter than my old dive watch. Optional screen protectors are good- reduced the somewhat hyperactive touch sensitivity. Battery life is great- 3 days, with a little GPS use. Charges in 90 minutes or less.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Fitness Watch! It was about time for Garmin to enter the market with a touchscreen fitness/smart watch. Tracking is accurate so far. A lot of preloaded activities. You can also create your own. Some improvements can be made in the strength training but I understand is kind of hard to track all exercises in a gym. I like the fact that calculates calorie count in strength training as well. The touch screen works good and the battery life is decent. For me I get around 5 days with HR sensor 24/7 and I can track around 10hrs or GPS enabled outdoor activities if I turn off the Bluetooth and the backlight (that you don't need during the day anyway). The display is very easy to read outdoor and under direct sunlight. It looks like some software updates are due to fix some small glitches but I guess that's normal for a new developed product. I like the Garmin connect app as well. Highly recommended.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice fitness tracker Still getting used to it . Not sure it tracks the results accurately . Gives me a lot lower value counts (Calories,VO2Max etc) than what the various fitness machines and other tracking devices traditionally are showing. Used to have Fitbit Surge that died (2x died) and I kind of liked the Fitbit mobile app better but because of reliability and ratings I decided to give Garmin a try. Jury is still out.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice so far I have enjoyed this activity tracker for the last 2 weeks. It does well on notifications and tracks the 3 exercises that I do. (rowing, treadmill, and lifting weights) It is very light weight and comfortable to wear. The band is just ok, not the nicest looking but it works. All in all I would recommend it to a friend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks great, works great Nice watch, looks very nice for a activity tracker. two negative remarks: - you can't add some sports like tennis - when the GPS is on and you sit still outside, or when you go inside a building, the tracking does some crazy things when you look on the map
